In The Beginning

poem by: E.J. Waling

In the
beginning.
The
beginning
of what?
Existence,
why?
Personal
existence.
Now what?
Point.
Is there
a point?
Purpose?
Look up.
Look
around.
Hit the
ground
running.
Years to
learn.
Integrate.
Never
stop.
No time.
Conveyer
moving.
One end
to the
next.
Ultimately
dropping
off.
Tossed
into the
deep end.
Back to
where it
began.
The
beginning.
Oblivion.
What was
accomplished?
What was
the point?
Religions,
philosophy
debates.
Theory’s
abound.
Too late,
already
gone.
